Artist's Comments
"The Evolution of Flight" is a part of my Frisland series, though it's not quite an artifact, per se. It combines imagery with an extract from the journal of a mad scientist and inventor.
The print is 5-color. The first three press runs are a reductive series, with portions of the image removed between runs. They were done on a lithographic stone. The last two runs were printed from aluminum photo plates that were in turn created from hand-drawings on frosted mylar. The paper size is 15 x 22 inches. |
